Micro-Film, Together for the Children

On Jan 8, 2022, Chunhui Children gathered its loving supporters and monthly donors (guardians of Chunhui babies) to watch its two award-winning micro-films. The event was themed “Thank you for always being here for the children”. The two films focus on disadvantaged children served by Chunhui programs. Benefiting from the professional care and education of Chunhui Children, the orphaned and at-risk children have a chance at a bright future.

The film “Don’t be afraid, because I am here for you” features Chunhui mamas who stay beside the orphaned children and give them motherly care even amid the Covid-19 pandemic. When the pandemic first broke out, people stopped going to work, but Chunhui mamas never walked away from the children, not for a moment. The audiences were so moved that their eyes welled up with tears. In Nov 2020, the film was shortlisted for Macao International Movie Festival and won the first prize at the Shanghai Charity Short Film Festival.

Chunhui Children’s documentary series Children in Plight follow the bitter life of three rural at-risk children. They won the first prize at the 2021 (7th) Annual Shanghai Charity Short Film Festival.

A guardian’s loving message for the children

The guardians video talked with the children in our remote mountainous program centers, learning from the child mentor about the children’s life, schooling, hopes and dreams. This provided a great opportunity for these loving supporters of Chunhui Children to connect with the children directly.

As the guardians said, this event made charity alive and brought them closer to the children whom they care about the most. While engaging directly with charity, they donate, communicate, share and seem to build their own social network. To conclude the event, Chunhui Children presented a certificate to its partner WeWork China for its generous support.

As Quan Bin, Vice president of WeWork China put it, “As a leading office service platform of China, WeWork connects 12 cities, 100 communities and boasts 70000 corporate members. In partnership with Chunhui Children, we launched this event to promote charity, give back to society and build up community impact. Looking forward, we hope to co-host more events with Chunhui Children, and invite our corporate partners both in and outside WeWork community to support Chunhui Children, contribute to charity and help provide the children a chance to pursue their dreams.
